Introducing Jesus of Nazareth

Introducing Jesus of Nazareth

The Father in heaven first introduced his Son to the earth with God-sized Birthday Gifts. He sent angel Gabriel to tell Mary the name of her coming Son and that his Father would be in heaven. A moving star guided wise men to the child, an angel chorus sang a birth announcement to shepherds and dream after dream to Joseph protected the one and only begotten Son of God. What an INTRODUCTION!

The Bible has much more information about this Jesus. Let us ORBIT AROUND HIM again and again and acquaint ourselves with this commanding figure.

Orbit 1 = The Conclusion of One of the Inner Circle of Jesus. After Peter had followed Jesus two years, he said, “YOU are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jona! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.” Matt 16:16-17. Peter did not make this statement without investigation. let the peace of god rule in your heart He had seen and heard Jesus do many miracles and fulfill prophecies. But Jesus taught him that he was enabled to believe by the Father in heaven for “No one comes to Jesus unless the Father draws him.” John 6:44. So a partnership with God involves God AND you at the beginning of your relationship and as long as it continues. What a PRIVILEGE! To partner with the Almighty. ?Do you wish to partner with God: Father, Son & Holy Spirit?______________

Orbit 2 = The Pain of Being Close to the LIGHT of the WORLD. Why did Peter beg Jesus to leave him? Jesus was not angry with him but had just given him such a huge catch of fish that he and his companions were astonished. This big WOW caused Peter to be aware that he was a sinful man and this made a big OUCH in his soul. But Jesus did not leave. Instead he predicted, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will catch men.” Lk 5:10. ? = Will you admit that your sin has humbled you?_______________

Orbit 3 = Jesus’ full glory paralyzed people. When Jesus walked on the water, Peter and others thought it was a ghost and cried out…Mk 6:49. When the inner circle, Peter, James and John, saw Jesus glow with bright, bright light “they were exceedingly afraid.” Mk 9:6 The people of Israel had begged God to come in a person like Moses: “Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, or see this great fire any more, lest I die.” Deut 18:16 So God left monotheism because the people asked him to change. So he sent Jesus veiled in human flesh but the glory of God still burst forth some times. Hallelujah! ? Has Jesus withheld his glory from you? Did he ever frighten you?_________ ? He wants to commune with you? Have you opened your door to him?______

Orbit 4 = John the Baptist preached, “Behold the LAMB OF GOD.” Jn 1:29. The fig leaves of Adam and Eve were not sufficient to cover the sin of thinking more of self than of God, so God covered them with skins. He knew that hundreds of years hence, humans would shed his own Son’s blood. That’s how sin would harden hearts. All the lambs that men offered down through the ages would point to this ultimate sacrifice of the LAMB OF GOD who takes away the sin of the world. If you feel the need to offer a blood sacrifice today, you slap God in the face. He has provided a once-for-all solution. Jesus has now become the RANSOM for many. Mk 10:45. What a great God. He is Creator and then he stoops to help us again as our REDEEMER. What an eternal gift! ? = Did Jesus have to die to show us how to obey the Father?
